Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan are mulling an offer for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, according to reports in Corriere dello Sport.
The 27-year-old Germany international is said to have emerged as the primary transfer target for Nerazzurri who are looking to bolster their midfield during summer.
Former Borussia Dortmund star joined Manchester City in a €27 million move two years ago but struggled with injuries during his first year at the Etihad.
This season, however, he enjoyed a more prominent role at the Citizens, helping his club to the Premier League title with 30 appearances and 4 goals.
Inter Milan owners are keen to push a deal through this summer in order to back Luciano Spalletti’s project but a potential move would very much depend on whether Nerazzurri will finish the season within the top four.
Spalletti’s men need to beat Lazio this Sunday in the Champions League showdown in order to achieve their goal.
