Somewhat surprisingly, the Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan have been linked with a summer move for Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku.
The situation involving former captain Mauro Icardi has forced Nerazzurri to start looking for possible reinforcements in the attacking department. Icardi has first been the subject of scrutiny due to his apparent refusal to extend the contract with Nerazzurri, while he also refused to travel with his team to Vienna for the Europa League.
It is now revealed the 26-year-old forward will most likely need to go to a knee surgery with Corriere dello Sport reporting that the Belgian international is emerging as a possible replacement for Icardi.
Romelu Lukaku has this season scored 8 Premier League goals in 24 appearances, while also adding another one in the FA Cup.
The Belgian has not exactly been a regular performer under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and could be allowed to leave in the summer despite being contracted to the Old Trafford outfit until 2022.
