Tuttosport understands that Inter Milan are weighing up January bid for Lyon midfielder Clement Grenier.
The Nerazzurri will have to sign a new central midfielder if Joao Mario leaves, and with the club officials yet to wrap up a deal for Ramires, they may turn to the Frenchman.
Luciano Spalletti coached Grenier last season during his loan spell at AS Roma, and he seems to believe the 26-year-old would be a good addition to the squad.
With his contract due to expire in June 2018 and the midfielder now a back-up option at Parc OL, there is a good chance he will be allowed to leave on a free transfer in January.
If that happens, Inter Milan could make their move and offer Grenier an opportunity to return to Italian Serie A.
