Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Inter Milan are hot on the trail of Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
With Toni Kroos and Luka Modric struggling for fitness, the Croatian started the second leg vs PSG and he was one of the best players on the pitch.
His excellent performance did not go unnoticed as Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio was in attendance.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri official used the opportunity to establish first contact with Real Madrid as well as the player’s agents as he clearly wants to bring Kovacic back to Stadio San Siro.
The 23-year-old had enjoyed two and a half successful years at Inter Milan and chances are he will be interested in moving back to Serie A having struggled for playing time in Madrid.
