Estadio Deportivo understands that Inter Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Sevilla full-back Mariano Ferreira Filho.
The Nerazzurri recently met with the player’s representatives to discuss a potential summer move to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, while they will soon present a formal offer to los Rojiblancos.
Considering that Mariano will be 31 in June, Sevilla will feel this is a perfect time to secure a good price for his services, although the figure is unlikely to be too close to the player’s €20 million release clause.
The experienced defender is enjoying one of the most successful seasons on personal level, having made 28 La Liga appearances for los Rojiblancos and also earned his first Brazil call-up since 2010.
The full-back was an unused substitute in a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Paraguay, but the mere fact he is now part of the Selecao set-up speaks volumes about his recent performances.
