Italian giants Inter Milan are currently leading the Serie A by one point over rivals Napoli, and they could be the club to finally end Juventus’ reign of dominance in Italy. Given how close the race for the Italian title is, Inter will need to bolster their squad in January if they are to keep up their great form.
The man they want to turn to is Gerard Deulofeu, according to the Guardian, who is currently plying his trade with a little Catalan club that goes by the name of Barcelona. In truth the winger is a stopgap replacement for the injured Ousmane Dembele, who joined the Blaugrana in the summer for €105m. Deulofeu has made nine La Liga appearances this season, bagging one goal and one assist.
Inter want to take the Spaniard on loan initially, but reports suggest that the deal would only be permitted if Barcelona manage to acquire Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool. That particular move would free the Merseyside club to purchase AS Monaco winger Thomas Lemar, as part of a huge transfer carousel spanning most of Europe.
