Italian giants Inter Milan are considering a summer bid for Marseille striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, La Gazzetta dello Sport can reveal.
With Lukas Podolski largely disappointing since joining on loan from Arsenal and Mauro Icardi linked with a summer exit, the Nerazzurri are in the market for attacking reinforcements.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Marseille’s Andre-Pierre Gignac is one of the first names on their hit-list.
Roberto Mancini has been impressed with the French forward and the fact he will be available on a free transfer is an added bonus.
And while the 29-year-old was open to extending his stay at Stade Velodrome, it appears as though he will not be offered a new deal by the club.
Gignac has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last two years, with the striker bagging 31 goals during the last two league campaigns, while also playing himself back into the first team plans of France coach Didier Deschamps.
