Corriere dello Sport understands Serie A leaders Inter Milan have set their sights on Lazio defender Stefan De Vrij.
The Dutch international is running out of contract and will be a free agent at the end of the season and Biancocelesti have thus far been unsuccessful in their attempts to tie him down on a new deal.
The main obstacle appears to be De Vrij’s demand to have a low release clause inserted in any possible contract which Lazio are refusing to accommodate.
Without a solution in sight, Inter Milan are said to have joined the long list of suitors patiently waiting for the situation to resolve.
Nerazzurri are keen to add De Vrij on a free transfer next summer but will face tough competition from the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Everton.
Stefan De Vrij is back to full fitness following a series of knee problems. Lazio defender played 15 Serie A matches this season and scored three goals for his side in the process.
