Serie A giants Inter Milan have approached representatives of Real Madrid star playmaker Luka Modric over a potential summer move, Sky Italia is reporting.
The 32-year-old is coming off from a formidable year which saw him lift the third straight Champions League trophy with Real Madrid while he also captained Croatia to the World Cup final.
Modric won the Golden Ball award for the tournament’s best player and is now being linked with a move away from Santiago Bernabeu.
Inter Milan are returning to the Champions League stage after a six-year absence and are determined to make their presence known. The club officials are keen to grab a player of Luka Modric’s caliber they feel could lift them closer back to former glory days.
Real Madrid superstar is said to be open to the switch but the Spanish powerhouse are unlikely to sanction another big-name departure after seeing Cristiano Ronaldo walk away this summer to Juventus.
