Inter Milan pursue Alonso

According to a recent report from Tuttomercato, Inter Milan are pushing hard to try and sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea.

The controversial defender has had a solid enough start to the campaign with the Blues but the belief is that Inter are ready to put forward a formal approach as soon as the January transfer window. Chelsea, as of this writing, have one of the most complete squads in world football, but some wonder whether or not there could be some chopping and changing on the way from Thomas Tuchel.

Alonso is an incredibly capable defender, despite not being the biggest fan favourite in the Premier League, and it’d be interesting to see the reaction of Chelsea fans if he does end up leaving. He’s not the most integral of players in their squad but his departure would be notable given how long he’s been a feature in the first team.
