Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan are ready to return for the Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian during the January transfer market.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Nerazzurri are exploring the options at the back following Sime Vrsaljko’s lack of fitness and are ready to invest in boosting their defence in the winter.
Sporting director Piero Ausilio is said to have shifted his focus on Darmian who is experiencing a tough time at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old has struggled to break into the first team under Jose Mourinho. With only three Premier League starts this season, Darmian admits it’s not been a perfect start to the season for him. He is proud to be representing a club like Manchester United but admits ‘I miss Italy a lot’.
Inter Milan already tried to bring Darmian in the summer when Red Devils received a loan offer worth €4 million with a €17 million purchase option.
