Inter Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna, according to Tuttosport.
The Nerazzurri desperately need to sign back up to red-hot Mauro Icardi and the talented Orobici forward has emerged as their top target.
Petagna managed to nail down a regular starting berth immediately after joining Atalanta from AC Milan and he has so far scored 5 goals in 23 appearances.
Inter Milan officials don’t seem to mind his Rossoneri past and they will attempt to bring him back to the city, albeit making him change his colours.
Oddly enough, Atalanta currently sit in front of the Nerazzurri in the Serie A standings, but such a scenario is unlikely to be repeated in years to come, meaning that Petagna is likely to be interested in a switch to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
Inter Milan still didn’t give up hope of trying to secure Champions League qualification and they are 8/1 chance to finish in top 3.
