Inter Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Swedish defender Victor Nilsson Lindelof from Benfica, Tuttosport has suggested.
It is no secret that the Nerazzurri are hot on the trail of the 22-year-old footballer and they appear to have decided to make their interest concrete in January.
Having conceded no fewer than six goals in last three fixtures, Inter Milan are in desperate need for defensive reinforcements and head coach Frank de Boer believes Lindelof would be a perfect partner for Joao Miranda.
Jeison Murillo and Andrea Ranocchia have both failed to impress this season, meaning the Nerazzurri are ready to splash out on the Swedish centre-back.
It is believed that Benfica will want at least €30 million for their prized asset, with few other top clubs also in the race.
Victor Lindelof has quickly become one of Europe’s most sought-after defenders, despite making just 22 league appearances for the Eagles.
