Inter Milan are interested in signing Marco Silvestri from Hellas Verona in the summer transfer window, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Nerazzurri have just won the Scudetto and are looking to reinforce their squad for next season and beyond, and they have identified the 30-year-old former Leeds United goalkeeper as a potential transfer target this summer.
Silvestri was on the books of Leeds from 2014 until 2017 before he was let go by the English club. The Italian did not always have the best of times at Elland Road, but during his time at Verona, he has established establish as one of the better goalkeepers in Serie A.
Samir Handanovic is the first-choice goalkeeper at Inter and made 34 appearances in Serie A and played six times in the Champions League for Inter this season, according to WhoScored. The newly-crowned Italian champions could do with an able back-up who can eventually succeed him in the starting lineup.
