According to Mundo Deportivo, Inter Milan and Napoli both wanted to sign Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez back in the summer. The 24 year old sustained an injury during pre-season, and hasn’t returned to first team action which has obviously hampered his ability to make an impact in the first team. Barcelona were said to be interested in the idea of selling him and the two Italian clubs both showcased their interest, but once they heard the price Barca wanted, they dropped the idea pretty quickly.
€40 million is the price tag that has been thrown around, which is considered to be quite steep by many even in today’s market. Suarez has always been on the outside looking in when it comes to elite midfielders, and over the course of the next few months, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the same clubs or different clubs attempt to make a move for him.
