Inter sporting director Marco Branca has rejected rumours that his side are locked in talks with Manchester City regarding Wesley Sneijder.
British sources had claimed that Inter were willing to use the Dutchman as makeweight in a deal for Carlos Tevez, who is desperate to find a new club before the end of the transfer window.
“There were no discussions whatsoever regarding Wesley Sneijder today during our meeting in London with representatives of Manchester City,” Branca told Inter’s website.
AC Milan seem to be leading the race to sign Tevez, but Italian sources have claimed that Inter are also vying for the Argentine’s services.
However, with City refusing to accept loan offers for the striker, Inter are reportedly pessimistic about their chances to land the 27-year-old.
Questioned about his future earlier on Thursday, Sneijder suggested he was ’90 per cent’ certain of staying with the Serie A giants but refused to rule out a January exit, with Manchester United believed to be interested in the midfielder.
The Netherlands international, who joined Inter from Real Madrid in 2009, has a contract with the Serie A side until 2015.
