Inter offer contract to Yaya Toure; Atletico to bid for Gourcuff

hot-transfer-newsInter offer contract to Yaya Toure

Italian giants Inter Milan have made a fresh assault on Manchester City star Yaya Toure, according to Sport Mediaset.

It is no secret that the Ivorian is club’s number one target ahead of the summer transfer window and it is believed the player would consider an offer from Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

But, seeing as Inter cannot afford to match his €13 million per year salary, they have offered the midfielder a four-year contract in an attempt to persuade him to join.

Given that Toure will turn 32 in less than two weeks, chances are there won’t be too many clubs ready to offer him a deal longer than two years.

This is exactly how Inter aim to move to the front of the queue and they have already presented their proposal to agent Dimitri Seluk.

With Toure having another two years left on his contract with Manchester City, Inter also need to reach an agreement with the Premier League holders.

Atletico to bid for Gourcuff

La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are hot on the trail of Lyon midfielder Yoann Gourcuff, Radio Marca can reveal.

Los Colchoneros are actively searching for midfield reinforcements and they seem ready to take a gamble with the former France hotshot.

According to Radio Marca, Atletico will offer Gourcuff a three-year deal worth €2 million per campaign.

The highly rated footballer has largely struggled to prove his worth at Lyon and everything suggests he will be leaving Stade Gerland on a free transfer come end of the season.

Following a disappointing start to his spell with les Gones, the 28-year-old has been showing a lot of promise this term, although he did struggle with a succession of injuries.

With four games to go, Lyon sit three points adrift of Ligue 1 leaders PSG, and they can be backed at 6/1 to win outright.

Iraola confirms Athletic exit

Athletic Bilbao star Andoni Iraola has announced to the media that he plans to leave the club at the end of the current campaign.

The long-serving defender has a deal until the end of the season at San Mames and he has decided to leave los Leones on a free transfer.

Iraola, 32, is expected to play his final match in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona on 30th May.

“I spent 16 years at Lezama and 12 in the first team. This will be my last year with the club, I’ve played many games here, I’ve had good and bad moments, I’m very content and proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish up to this point,” Iraola said at a press conference.

“Every year it became more difficult to respond to the expectations, wearing the Athletic shirt is a great responsibility. I want to live another type of experience. It’s never easy to make these kinds of decisions.

“This is an important decision, not finishing in the club, it’s not easy. Over the last several years, I’ve been renewing year by year. I knew now was the time to change since the beginning of the season.”

Andoni Iraola has spent his entire career up to date at Athletic, making 404 La Liga appearances and scoring 32 goals in total.
