Serie A fallen giants Inter Milan are reportedly preparing for an ambitious summer.
Backed by their new owners, Nerazzurri are expected to have their treasure chest refilled ahead of the summer transfer window as Inter look to add more quality to their ranks and rebuild their squad ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Inter want to add a couple of high-profile names to their team and according to the Italian television station, Sportitalia, Real Madrid stars James Rodriguez and Pepe have been earmarked as the two top transfer targets.
The Nerazzurri are reportedly in advanced negotiations with the two players, who would add plenty of quality to the Italian side.
The 34-year-old Pepe is out of contract with Real Madrid and is free to choose his next club at his own will, whereas the situation with Colombia international James Rodriguez is much more difficult.
James Rodriguez is under contract with Los Blancos until 2020 and Real Madrid will not easily give up on the player they paid €75 million for.
Rodriguez saw his playing time get severely limited under Zinedine Zidane and could push for a move outside Santiago Bernabeu during the summer transfer window.
