La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that Inter Milan are set to join the chase for Anzhi star Samuel Eto’o.
The Cameroonian is set to become the latest victim of the Russian club’s budget cuts, but chances are he will jump at the opportunity to return to the biggest stage.
And while Chelsea are believed to be in a pole position at the moment, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned that the Blues have yet to make a formal proposal for the player’s services.
Meanwhile, Inter are not giving up on their former striker, with the Nerazzurri reportedly set to submit an official bid early next week.
Samuel Eto’o recently hinted that he would love to be reunited with Jose Mourinho, but a return to Giuseppe Meazza could appeal to him as well.
The 32-year-old was part of the Inter side that won the Serie A and Champions League titles in 2009/2010.
