Sky Sport Italia is reporting that Inter are stepping up their efforts to sign FC Porto midfielder Fernando.
The Neroazzurri plan to further reinforce the squad in the summer transfer window and they are ready to make a move for their long-term target.
Inter have been keeping close tabs on the Brazilian for a couple of years now and they believe the time has come to lure him to Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
With the player’s deal at Estadio do Dragao set to expire in June 2014, there is every chance he will be available at a cut-back price at the end of the current campaign.
Fernando has spent last six years at Porto, clocking up 116 Primeira Liga appearances and scoring 2 goals in the process.
The 25-year-old has also made 45 European appearances for the Dragons and it appears he is now ready to leave his current employers for a big European club.
