Manchester City have been told by Inter Milan to give up on trying to sign Milan Skriniar, according to Tuttosport.
The Premier League champions have found themselves a few pairs of legs short in the centre-back department. Former captain Vincent Kompany left this summer to join Anderlecht. Aymeric Laporte suffered a nasty knee injury in their win over Brighton and Hove Albion the week before last. He has undergone surgery and could be out for a very long time. John Stones has had injury issues of his own and though he could be back this week when they take on Norwich City on Saturday, it remains to be seen just how much manager Pep Guardiola can rely on him throughout the season.
In light of the problem, City reportedly expressed an interest in Skriniar, but it seems they will have to look elsewhere for a solution. Skriniar recently revealed he was happy at Inter, on top of the Serie A side not being interested in any offers for the Slovakian.
