Inter have had a bid accepted for Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Mateo Kovacic, the Croatian club have revealed.
The player has flown to Milan to undergo a medical at Giuseppe Meazza ahead of signing a contract with the Italian giants.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that the deal is worth €11 million, with Inter officials not afraid to splash a big portion of their transfer kitty on an 18-year-old footballer.
Inter only decided to step up their interest in the Croatian hotshot after it became clear Corinthians midfielder Paulinho would not be arriving in the January transfer window.
Despite his fragile age, Kovacic has already made 43 league appearances for Dinamo Zagreb, while featuring in 20 Champions League matches, and the Neroazzurri are convinced they have unearthed a new gem of a player.
Stuttgart midfielder Zdravko Kuzmanovic and Atalanta winger Ezequiel Schelotto are also set to sign for the Neroazzurri.
