Inter start search for a new striker
Inter technical director Marco Branca has admitted the club plan to sign a new striker who would act as a cover for Diego Milito.
The Argentina international has encountered numerous injury problems this term, prompting club management to start a search for a new striker.
“We have to be competitive on all fronts. If there is the chance to rest someone for some games, it can be an advantage to get certain results,” Branca said.
Boss Leonardo has nothing against adding to his squad.
“If someone can become a resource and give us a hand. We will not buy for the sake of buying.”
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are keeping tabs on Amauri, Andrea Caracciolo and Johan Elmander.
Meanwhile, Inter are closing in on Feyenoord youngster Luc Castaignos, who should arrive to Giuseppe Meazza in the next few days.
Giuseppe Rosi denies transfer talk
Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi has denied speculations linking him with a move away from the club.
The Italian become team’s top scorer by scoring a brace in the victory over Real Sociedad last night and he admits to feeling happy for the goals.
“I’m happy for the goals, as they are important to me, even more so as they helped the team record a victory.”
Rossi also rejected transfer talk by saying he was perfectly happy to remain at El Madrigal.
“I have always said I am very happy at Villarreal and I don’t think of anything else.”
The 23-year-old striker has been linked with a number of clubs including Tottenham and Juventus but everything suggests the interested clubs will have to wait at least until the summer.

Redknapp: Woodgate going nowhere
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has denied claims that Jonathan Woodgate could be heading to Arsenal.
According to latest reports, Jonathan Woodgate was set for a shock move to Arsenal, but Harry Redknapp has moved to deny such allegations.
“No, not a chance. We wouldn’t let him go there. We want to keep him,” he said when asked about a possible move.
“He’s out of contract in the summer so if we let him out on loan, then we’re giving him away unless he signs a new deal before he goes.
“He needs to stay here and see how he goes and if he’s OK, he can sit down at the end of the season and we’ll give him a new deal for next year.”
Woodgate’s career continues to be plagued with injuries, although he has recently returned into action after 14 months on the sidelines.
