Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Inter Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign Spanish striker Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
The Nerazzurri might have to part ways with controversial striker Mauro Icardi at the end of the season as Atletico Madrid are reportedly hot on his trail.
But, even if the Argentine remains at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, Inter plan to try and lure Real’s Alvaro Morata to Milan.
The Nerazzurri have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of the 21-year-old attacker as the player’s agent hinted yesterday that his client could end up at Inter.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Inter chairman Erick Thohir has scheduled a meeting with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez for next Thursday, with Morata the main subject of conversation.
The player, who bagged six goals in less than 300 minutes of league action this season, should be available on a cut-price deal as his contract at Santiago Bernabeu is due to expire in June 2015.
