Inter to continue summer shopping; Lyon confirm offers for Cissokho

Inter to continue summer shopping

Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Inter are looking to add another one or two midfielders to the squad.

The Neroazzurri are a bit short of options in the middle of the pitch despite the arrival of Gabi Mudingayi and they are eager to sign at least one more midfielder before the transfer window closes.

With Javier Zanetti also an option for the centre of the park, boss Andrea Stramaccioni will be satisfied with another central midfielder.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Inter are stepping up their interest in Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano, who has lost his place in the starting line-up at San Paolo following the arrival of Valon Behrami.

The 28-year-old is not only available for sale, but he would need no extra time to adapt, having spent last five seasons in Serie A.

The Uruguayan international has scored 4 goals in 165 Serie A games for the Azzurri and it looks he would be a great addition to the squad at Giuseppe Meazza.

Other targets include Paulinho, Nigel de Jong, Sandro, Fernando and Nuri Sahin.

Lyon confirm offers for Cissokho

French giants Olympique Lyon have revealed they have received two official offers for defender Aly Cissokho.

It is no secret that the highly rated full-back is looking for a new challenge and Lyon are willing to cash in on him for the right price.

The 24-year-old has been repeatedly linked with some of Europe’s top sides and Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas now states they have received two offers for the player’s services.

“We received two proposals for Aly, one from Spain and one from England,” Aulas told Radio Monte Carlo.

“We are talking patiently with both clubs, but are not obliged to sell at any cost. We will continue to negotiate and look forward to opportunities.”

The player’s brother blasted Lyon chairman earlier this week because of the €11 million price tag he had placed on the promising defender.

That may be a lot of money to pay for a defender, but given that Cissokho is only 24 and has five seasons of first team football behind him, it is little wonder that les Gones are not willing to sell on the cheap.

Rennes to sign M’Vila replacement

Ligue 1 side Rennes are on the verge of completing a move for Aston Villa midfielder Jean II Makoun, according to France Football.

Les Bretons seem to have come to terms with losing star midfielder Yann M’Vila and are now set to sign him a replacement.

France Football reports that Aston Villa midfielder Jean II Makoun is set to arrive at Stade de la Route de Lorient.

The 29-year-old joined Aston Villa in a €7.5 million deal from Lyon in January 2011, but was farmed out on loan to Olympiakos after spending just six months at Villa Park.

The experienced midfielder has since returned to the Premier League side, but he will now be allowed to leave as he doesn’t feature in Paul Lambert’s plans for the upcoming season.

Jean II Makoun has spent most of his career in France’s top flight, having played for giants Lyon and Lille.

With that in mind, there are no doubts his experience will be a huge asset to Rennes’ youthful side.
