The Brazilian scoring sensation Gabriel Barbosa, commonly known as Gabigol, has failed to live up to the expectations at Inter Milan.
Former Nerazzurri boss Frank De Boer claims the Brazilian forward was brought without his knowledge and did not figure in his plans, whereas now it remains to be seen if the 20-year-old’s fortune will be changed under new coach Stefano Pioli.
Having yet to make a starting appearance in the Serie A, Gabigol is widely expected to be allowed to leave Inter on loan in January in order to gain first-team experience and get acclimatised faster.
The host of Premier League clubs were thought to be keen on Inter’s forward, but according to one of the leading football websites in Italy Calcio News 24, Inter are eager to keep Gabigol closer to Milano.
A reported January loan to Empoli is on the cards as it stands right now with Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio believed to have already set the move in motion.
