Inter Milan are set to move for Edinson Cavani of Paris Saint-Germain when the transfer window opens this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
The striker was heavily linked with Atletico Madrid in January, but the deal reportedly fell through due to the two clubs being unable to find an agreement over the fee. However, that obstacle will now be out of the way for any potential suitor, as his contract is set to expire at the end of June. A recent report in the French media suggested the Ligue 1 champions were preparing to offer him a new deal, but he isn’t very likely to sign it, having lost his place in the starting XI.
Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have begun somewhat of a resurrection project, investing heavily into their team and hoping to break the domination of Juventus in Italian football soon. Cavani turned 33 in February and his career is about to enter its final stage wherever he goes, but he is still a highly capable attacker, despite scoring only seven goals in 22 appearances this term.
