Inter Milan are set to complete the signing of Sampdoria striker Eder, Tuttosport can reveal.
The Nerazzurri had identified the Italy international as a perfect solution for their attacking worries, but they faced stiff competition from Leicester City for his services.
Nevertheless, Eder has since decided to continue his career at Inter Milan and the transfer should be completed in the coming days.
Sampdoria chairman Massimo Ferrero and the Nerazzurri chief Carlo Osti are currently in a meeting, sorting out the final details of the deal.
The Nerazzurri have experienced all sorts of problems up front this season, scoring mere 26 goals in 21 league games, with Mauro Icardi, Rodrigo Palacio and Stevan Jovetic bagging just 13 goals between them.
Meanwhile, Eder has been the only bright spot in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Sampdoria, scoring impressive 12 goals in 19 league outings, so chances are he will slot straight into the starting line-up at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
