Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Inter are on the verge of signing Tigre midfielder Ruben Botta.

According to the Italian newspaper, the Neroazzurri have reached an agreement with the player’s representatives over a five-year deal worth around €1 million per campaign.

Once club president Massimo Moratti gives the green light, the transfer will be officially completed.

Inter have thus managed to win the race for the player who was also followed by Juventus, Tottenham and Roma.

The best thing here is that the 23-year-old holds an Italian passport and arrives at Giuseppe Meazza on a free transfer.

Ruben Botta is an attacking midfielder who has only recently established himself as a first team regular at Tigre, but his potential was long ago recognized by the Neroazzurri.

The talented midfielder has made 14 league appearances for Tigre this term and scored 3 goals in the process.

Jorginho agrees Milan switch

Milan have agreed to sign Verona midfielder Jorginho, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.

The Rossoneri have an agreement in place to purchase 50 percent of the player’s contract in the summer transfer window.

Jorginho is expected to remain at Verona for the 2013/2014 season, especially if the club clinch promotion to Serie A.

The Brazilian midfielder, who will soon qualify for an Italian passport, has been impressive for Verona in Serie B, which in turn saw some of Europe’s top clubs show interest in his services.

Arsenal were also keen on the 21-year-old, but AC Milan swiftly wrapped up the deal and beat the Gunners to the player’s signature.

Jorginho arrived at Hellas Verona from minnows Sambonifacese in 2011 and went on to make 60 Serie B appearances for Gialloblu.

Benayoun nears Russia move

Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun could be moving to Russia in the summer transfer window, according to Izvestia.

The Israeli footballer has entered the final year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and it is perfectly clear he will not be offered a new deal by the club.

Russian newspaper Izvestia has learned that Rubin Kazan and Lokomotiv Moscow are exploring the possibility of signing the player on a free transfer in the summer.

Benayoun’s representative Ronen Katsav admits that his client would consider offers from Russia.

“Benayoun will be a free agent in the summer and there is bound to be an interest in such a good player,” Katsav told Izvestia.

“Yossi is fully focused on his job at Chelsea to adequately complete the current season. Before his contract ends, we will consider all offers.”

Benayoun has made just two Premier League appearances for the Blues since returning to the club after a loan spell at West Ham.

Hi Oyvind, thanks for spotting the mistake. I obviously know Milan are called the Rossoneri, but just made a silly mistake. As far as Inter’s nickname is concerned, both spellings are correct.
