Internacional de Porto Alegre have made a formal offer for Espanyol midfielder Jesus Datolo, the Spanish club have revealed.
Internacional playmaker Andres D’Alessandro is on the verge of joining Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua, the club that recently signed Nicolas Anelka from Chelsea.
According to Lance, Shanghai Shenhua have offered D’Alessandro a two-year deal worth around €8 million per season.
The Brazilians are, therefore, looking for a new creative midfielder and they have made Espanyol’s Jesus Datolo their number one target.
Espanyol sporting director Ramon Planes has confirmed that the Brazilian club have made a formal offer for the Argentine.
“We know of Internacional’s interest. There was a proposal (for Datolo), and we are waiting a response to a counter-offer presented,” Planes told Lance.
Datolo joined Espanyol from Napoli in the summer of 2010, but was mostly restricted to substitute appearances at Montjuic.
The player is now looking to leave the club in search of first team football and he will jump at the opportunity to kick-start his career in Brazil.
