Uruguay ended their Copa America preparations on a good note with a 3-0 win over Estonia on Thursday.

The friendly victory will boost the confidence of Oscar Tabarez’s squad, who entered the match with just one win in their last five matches.

Defender Martin Caceres opened the scoring after just 12 minutes, but Estonia managed to head into half-time just trailing by the one goal and hopeful of reversing a slide which had seen them lose their last three fixtures.

But things did not get any brighter for the Estonians in the second half as a Mikk Rientam own goal nine minutes after the restart gave Uruguay a two-goal advantage.

The victory was wrapped up when Ajax midfielder Nicolas Lodeiro scored with 19 minutes remaining, handing Estonia their fourth successive defeat, in which they have conceded 12 goals and scored none.

In the day’s other friendly, Paraguay and Chile played out a goalless draw in Asuncion in the last match for both sides before the Copa America begins in two weeks time.
