(GSM) – Milan’s veteran striker, Filippo Inzaghi, has quashed rumours that he is set to retire at the end of the season.

The Champions League winner has made just four starts in 23 league appearances for the Serie A giants fueling speculation that he might hang up his boots in the summer.

But the 36-year-old has confirmed he will play at least another season with Milan.

The former Juventus star told La Stampa: “The time to retire has not arrived yet.

“I still want to beat some records and I would like to do that with this jersey and for these fans who have always loved me.”

Inzaghi shares the honour as the most prolific goalscorer in European club competitions with Real Madrid striker Raul, with both players having scored 68 goals.

Inzaghi has hit the back of the net 39 times with Milan, making him the club’s all-time top scorer in Europe.
