Inzaghi targets crucial victory

(GSM) – Filippo Inzaghi believes Milan must defeat Lazio at the San Siro on Sunday to remain in the title race after crashing to a 1-0 loss at Parma last night.

The unexpected setback leaves the Rossoneri four points adrift of leaders Internazionale with eight games remaining.

But Inter will face fellow title contenders Roma at the Olimpico on Saturday and Inzaghi thinks Lazio’s visit represents a final chance.

“We must win against Lazio,” Inzaghi told the Milan Channel after the match at the Ennio Tardini.

“We have to train well and win. That’s the only path for us. The race is open, we can cut the gap on Roma or Inter but we must absolutely pick up the three points against Lazio who are on form.”

The Biancocelesti followed up Sunday’s win away to Cagliari with a 2-0 defeat of fellow relegation strugglers Siena 2-0 yesterday.
