Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has admitted that a move to Spain’s La Liga would interest him.
The Welsh wing wizard has been linked with a summer move to both Barcelona and Real Madrid.
A move to one of the Spanish giants would be difficult to turn down for any player.
Dream
The Welsh international told the Sun: “If you are talking about Barcelona or Real Madrid, two of the biggest clubs in the world, then it’s a bit like Harry and England, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime dream.
“If you said to any young player that you could play for Barcelona or Real would they turn it down? Probably not. If a bid was accepted you would obviously have to seriously consider it. But that has not happened so, at the moment, I’m just concentrating on Tottenham.”
Risen
Bale’s stock in the world game has risen sizeably in the last few years and he has became one of the most in-demand players in British football. Bale has been linked also been linked with a move to English champions Manchester United.
Rare
Bale must be regarded as a special talent if he is being linked with Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, because very few British players are considered good enough to represent arguably the two best teams in the world.
Bale is a special player. He has every attribute needed to become a truly great player and those attributes have obviously been recognised by the two Spanish giants. With his pace and power he would definitely fit in well in La Liga.
Full-back
Although Gareth Bale has played as a winger in the last couple of years he started his career at full-back. Barcelona will be looking for a long-term replacement for veteran Frenchman Eric Abidal. Barcelona’s full-backs play more like wingers at times and Bale would fill that role perfectly.
He has the energy and the athleticism to get up and down the pitch. The thought of Daniel Alves on one side of the pitch and Gareth Bale on the other side would definitely scare opposition defences.
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho will know a lot about Gareth Bale because of his knowledge of the English game. Whether Mourinho will still be in the Spanish capital this summer to sign the Welshman remains to be seen.
Blow
Tottenham would demand a big fee for one of their star players but it would be a major blow to lose Bale. Bale has played a big part in Tottenham’s good campaign and he is regarded as one of the clubs key players.
If Harry Redknapp leaves then there is expected to be a mass exodus from White Hart Lane and according to reports Gareth Bale could be one of those players on the move. Keeping the likes of Gareth Bale is vital for Tottenham to keep progressing.
Bright
At just 22 years of age Gareth Bale has a bright future ahead of him. There is no doubt that Gareth Bale has the ability to play in whichever league he wants and I don’t think he would look out of place in La Liga.
However I’m sure Gareth Bale is concentrating on trying to help Tottenham secure that vital Champions League spot. He may have a big decision to make this summer though and as he has stated it would be hard to turn down a move to one of the best teams in the world.
Will Gareth Bale be heading to La Liga this summer?
