The Daily Mail is reporting that Italy star Daniele De Rossi has admitted that he is open to the idea of moving to the Premier League at some stage.
The Roma midfielder is currently competing at Euro 2012, but with Manchester City interested in making a move, this is a transfer story that could gain momentum.
Roberto Mancini has made is clear in the past that he is after a top-class midfielder to boost his Premier League title winning squad and De Rossi could fit the bill.
Discussing his future recently, De Rossi not only said he was ‘attracted’ by English football, but added: “I think now it’s probably more interesting than Italian football.”
This news is likely to interest Manchester City and perhaps they will now en-quire about the Italian’s future.
In other news from the Etihad Stadium, The Sun has reported this week that Nigel De Jong is after a new contract at the club.
Speculation had suggested that the Dutch midfielder was wanted by Newcastle, but now he could extend his current deal, which still has a year to run.
Overall, there is plenty of speculation about transfers both in and out of Manchester City and this isn’t likely to slow down between now and the start of the new campaign.
