L’Equipe is reporting that AS Roma and Fiorentina are weighing up summer moves for Monaco starlet Lucas Ocampos.
The Argentine has shown some promise at Stade Louis II, but he was forced to leave the club on loan last January in search of first team football.
Ocampos in turn enjoyed six successful months with Marseille, who have since been trying to sign him on permanent basis.
However, the latest reports suggest that OM are not the only top side keen on the 20-year-old, with AS Roma and Fiorentina also showing interest.
Former Lille coach Rudi Garcia is well aware of Ocampos’ qualities and he hopes the lure of playing Champions League football will help him persuade the youngster to move to Stadio Olimpico.
This means that Marseille will need to act quickly if they want to secure the player’s signature, although club officials are probably waiting to see whether coach Marcelo Bielsa will remain at Stade Velodrome before making any concrete moves.
