(GSM) – UEFA has awarded Italy a 3-0 win over Serbia after the tie was suspended because of crowd violence.

The match had to restart before it was called off after flares were thrown into the pitch.

UEFA has chosen to punish Serbia by making them play their next two matches without any viewers while Italy were also penalized for the violent acts on their soil and was fined €100,000.

The decision was made after a meeting for the European governing body’s disciplinary commission in Nyon this morning.
