Italy defender to sign a new Juve deal

Giorgio Chiellini has agreed in principle to sign a new deal with the club that will see him remain at Juventus until 2015.

The Italy defender will sign a two-year extension to his current deal and will thus become one of the highest paid players in the club.

According to terms of the new contract, the 26-year-old will earn €3.2 million per season, and all that’s left is for his agent, Davide Lippi to sort out the final details with the club.

“Chiellini is a key defender at Juventus, many teams are tracking him, not only Real Madrid, but the deal will go through because he wants to renew his Juventus contract,” said Davide Lippi.

Lippi met with Juventus chiefs yesterday afternoon and he has no doubts the two sides will be able to reach an agreement.

“The agreement was not signed, we met but the player hasn’t signed anything. There are some economic issues, but from this point of view there is a perfect agreement with Juventus.”
