Italy international hints at Milan deal

Cagliari defender Davide Astori believes that his transfer to Milan will soon come to fruition.

The Italy international who is half owned by Cagliari and Milan hopes the Rossoneri will buy out the remainder of his contract this summer.

“I feel like I am ready to join Milan. It seems as if Galliani is eager to complete my transfer in the near future and I am hopeful that the situation will be solved shortly,” Astori told Il Corriere dello Sport.

“It is an important signal for me that Milan no longer want to extend the joint ownership. This shows that they have faith in me and that they see me as an important player for the future.

“Even if they fail to sign me now, that would not mean that my dream to wear the Milan jersey is over. It is not important whether I return to Milan now or in five years time.”

The transfer could see the promising defender return to San Siro just three years after leaving the Rossoneri.
