Italy international hints at Premiership move
Torino defender Angelo Ogbonna has revealed that he dreams of playing in English Premier League.
The 24-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best centre-backs in Serie A and it is only a matter of time before he will leave Granata for greener pastures.
The player admits that he was on the verge of leaving the Stadio Olimpico outfit in the summer.
“I had many offers (in the summer) but I chose to stay here and I’m happy to have made it,” the Italy international confessed to Tuttosport.
The highly rated defender admits that English Premier League is his most likely destination when he decides to leave Torino.
“I would go abroad willingly. I would like to experience other cultures. English football fascinates me, but the style is similar to Torino’s one. And I speak English.”
Angelo Ogbonna, who already has five Italy caps to his name, began his career at Torino and went on to make 131 league appearances for the club.
Valencia star cool on United link
Valencia midfielder Sofiane Feghouli has confirmed that he is ready to commit his long-term future to the club.
The highly rated winger was recently linked with a move to Manchester United, but he has poured cold waters on rumours linking him with a switch to Old Trafford.
“I’ve said it a thousand times, I am very happy at Valencia and I want to stay, but that does not depend only on me,” the Algerian winger was quoted as saying in Super Deporte.
Feghouli then revealed that the club chiefs had already contacted his representative in order to discuss a new deal for the player.
“There have been contacts recently, I know they have talked to my agent, but I am focused on playing football.”
Sofiane Feghouli joined Valencia on a free transfer from Grenoble in the summer of 2010 and has since developed into a key member of the side at Mestalla.
The player has started the new season in bright fashion, scoring 3 goals in 6 La Liga appearances for los Che.
Everton keen on Championship star
The Daily Mirror suggests Everton are ready to step up their efforts to sign Barnsley defender John Stones.
The 18-year-old is seen as a long-term replacement for veteran defender Tony Hibbert, with the Toffees eager to beat other interested sides to the player’s signature.
Chelsea and Manchester City have already had the player watched this season, but Everton appear to be leading the race at the moment.
Barnsley are desperate to keep hold of their prized asset, but it is believed they would not be able to resist a big money bid.
John Stones started his career in his hometown club and has already made 9 Championship appearances for the Tykes.
The talented defender appears to have made the right-back spot his own, having already started 5 league games this season.
