Italy international goalkeeper Mattia Perin has poured cold water on speculation linking him with a summer move away from Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
The talented shot-stopper is currently on the radar of several top European sides and he was widely tipped to leave Genoa for greener pastures in the summer.
But, with Grifone all but securing European qualification with some strong performances, Perin has made it clear he has no desire to leave any time soon.
The 22-year-old will instead sign a new four-year deal with the Stadio Luigi Ferraris outfit before the current season ends.
“Next week I will sign a contract renewal until 2019. I don’t know what stronger signal I could send about my future,” he told Sky Sport Italia.
“The President has a great deal of enthusiasm, like the fans and the team, so is working hard to keep his players.”
Mattia Perin has spent his entire career so far as a Genoa player, although he did enjoy successful loan spells with Padova and Pescara.
Some excellent displays in Serie A helped the youngster break into the national team set-up, and he was on the bench in four of Italy’s five Euro 2016 qualifiers.
