Marcello Lippi has made his call-ups for Italy’s World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Ireland on March 28 and April 1 respectively. Now, the tactician must choose his starting formation and his first training session has given the media some hints.
The former Juventus coach lined up a three man midfield with Daniele De Rossi and Sampdoria general Angelo Palombo alongside deep lying playmaker Andrea Pirlo in midfield during practice, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Meanwhile, the defense included three World Cup winners in Gianluca Zambrotta, Fabio Grosso and captain Fabio Cannavaro, along with Bianconeri centre-back Giorgio Chiellini.
