(GSM) – Fulham’s miracle comeback saw Juventus crash out of the Europa League on Thursday night. Juve’s talismanic captain Allessandro Del Piero called it ‘a disaster’.
Juventus were leading 4-1 on aggregate when David Trezeguet netted at Craven Cottage 100 seconds into this tie.
However, after Fabio Cannavaro’s dismissal, they collapsed and saw Fulham hit back and book a 4-1 victory to seal Juve’s fate.
“It’s very difficult to talk right now and it’s a shame that the finger of blame is being pointed only at a few players,” said Del Piero who only came off the bench for the final minutes.
“Tonight was a disaster, one of the worst moments of my Juventus career. It will be difficult to get back on our feet after this.
“It is our duty to find a solution so we can end the season in a dignified manner.”
The elimination for the Europa Leauge forms the latest setback in what has been a disastrous season for the Bianconeri who were dumped out of the Champions League in the group phase and Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
They currently hold fifth place in Serie A.
