Having gone down early to a Marcus Rashford opener, Manchester City returned with fury to beat city rivals Manchester United by 3-1 at the Etihad, courtesy of a brace by Phil Foden and a calm Erling Haaland finish.
Interestingly enough, United had an xG of 0.0 in the second half of the match, with Rashford’s goal being their only shot on target all game, from a total of three attempts. City had the ball for 74% of the time and took a total of 27 shots, eight on target.
Still, United boss Erik ten Hag believes the difference in quality between the two sides is not that big, once he has his injured players back.
“It’s not that big, especially when we have everyone on board!” 👀
Erik ten Hag denies there is a huge gulf in class between United and City 😬
