Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is on the verge of signing a new one-year deal with the club, according to the Metro.
The full-back’s future with the club has been the subject of rife speculation in recent months with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season though is now set to remain a Stamford Bridge for a further year.
The Premier League champions have a policy of only offering twelve month extensions to players over thirty, and the Serbia international turns thirty-two next month.
Ivanonic joined Chelsea in January 2008 and has since played for them three hundred and thirty-eight times, scoring thirty-two times.
He has won a whole host of major honours during his time with the Blues including two league titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup, the Europa League and Champions League.
He has eighty-three caps for his country and was named their captain in 2012.
