(GSM) – England midfielder Frank Lampard has come out in support of manager Fabio Capello and Chelsea team-mate John Terry following reports of a rift.
Earlier Terry’s comments sounded far closer to a rallying call for a mutiny against the Italian’s regime but Lampard has dismissed speculation that rifts are emerging in his side.
“I think it’s been particularly overdone in terms of a ‘crisis meeting’…but I understand what John Terry was saying because he’s passionate like that, as a player as a person,” said Lampard.
“Every person deals with things differently. Some won’t say much and others want to hit things head-on.
“It seems to me the manager and (number two) Franco Baldini have always been very approachable.
“I’ve been lucky enough to work with some fantastic managers and Fabio Capello is right up there.”
England face a must-win encounter with Slovenia on Wednesday in Port Elizabeth that will finalise the standings on Group C with the USA and England currently tied on two points and Slovenia on top with four.
