Jackson Martinez wants Valencia move

FC Porto striker Jackson Martinez is hoping to join Valencia in the summer transfer window, according to Las Provincias.

It is no secret los Che are on the lookout for a new centre forward and they seem to have made the Colombia international their priority.

Martinez’s agent Henrique Pompeo was in Portugal yesterday to speak with FC Porto chiefs about a summer exit for his client and he has informed Valencia officials of his visit.

Las Provincias reports that Jackson Martinez would prefer a switch to Mestalla and his representative has invited los Che to make an official bid for his services.

The 27-year-old is currently with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup and he came on as a second-half substitute in the 3-0 triumph over Greece.

Los Cafeteros face Ivory Coast on Thursday and they are 11/10 favourites to win their second fixture and virtually secure their place in the knockout stages.
