Everton ace Phil Jagielka is keen on signing a new long-term contract with the club.
Jagielka is one of three players that the club are negotiating new deals with, according to Everton chairman Bill Kenwright.
Jagielka will miss the rest of the season with a anterior cruciate ligament damage and could also miss the start of the next.
“If I had not got injured, discussions might have been a whole lot easier in the summer,†Jagielka said on the club’s website.
“The ball is in their court now and there’s not much I can do. I can’t perform for a few months but if it’s a case of me committing my future, there is no issue with that.
“If they want to do that [offer a contract], it’s not going to take very long to sort out.
“The fans, the staff, the players – everything about the club suits me.â€Â
