Jaime Moreno set to call it quits on his DC United career
MLS all-time leading scorer Jaime Moreno looks likely to leave DC United at the end of the season.
DC United announced Moreno could return to his native Bolivia to play but that he also had a standing offer to return and work for the club.
The club president Kevin Payne also called the Bolivian “an invaluable member” of the team and “arguably the greatest player in the history of Major League Soccer.”
Moreno broke the MLS goals record in 2007 and his tally currently stands at 132, while he is also the only player in league’s history with more than 100 goals and 100 assists.
The 36-year-old is nearing the end of his career and this is probably the right time to return to his native Bolivia, but there is no doubt DC United, as well as the MLS will lose one of the greatest players that ever set foot on American soil.

Wolfsburg and Juve locked in the battle for Eljero Elia
HSV winger Eljero Elia has attracted a lot of attention with his impressive performances at the World Cup 2010 and he is now a subject of a true bidding war between Wolfsburg and Juventus.
Hamburg’s sport director Bastian Reinhardt admits there is a heavy interest in the Dutch international.
“Eljero’s consultant Frank Schouten has informed us that Wolfsburg and Juventus call him constantly. Juventus has offered 12 million euros. I do not consider this to be a serious offer. If one is seriously interested, he should make a serious offer.”
It is though HSV want 20 million euros for the tricky winger, who seems content with staying at HSH Nordbank Arena.
“I don’t want to say anything on that subject. My whole focus is on HSV. I want to be successful at Hamburg. Regarding the speculation, you should contact my agent,” said Elia.
With the arrival of players like Westerman, Kacar and few others, HSV have something really good going on and it is no wonder Elia wants to stay. Maybe another full Bundesliga season would help him realize his potential to bigger extent and to fully prepare for the new challenge.

Bologna sign Manuel Gavilan
Serie A side Bologna have announced the signing of teenage striker Manuel Gavilan from Betis.
The Under-19 Spain international has signed a contract with Bologna yesterday evening and he is now set to join his new teammates.
Manuel Gavilan Morales, also known as Manu, only turned 19 last month and partly due to his fragile age, he hasn’t seen much playing time with Real Betis last term.
Being one of the hottest talents in Spain, Manu is probably seen as one for the future by Bologna management but he could play some part in club’s bid for survival this season.
The club also signed defender Gyorgy Garics from Atalanta earlier this week.
