Manchester United started their 2019 pre-season with a 2-0 win over Perth Glory. The deadlock was broken on the hour-mark by Marcus Rashford, while 18-year-old James Garner entered the fray in the 83rd minute and took advantage of a mistake from the Australian side to blast in the second from the edge of the box, with what was practically his first touch of the game.
Garner has so far played only one competitive game for United – a 3-1 away win over Crystal Palace last season in the Premier League, having been introduced for the final few minutes, but if he can produce moments like this on a regular basis, the future will look bright for him.
